This is my combat patch from Operation Iraqi Freedom II. I am in the Oregon National Guard, and we were attached to the 1st Cav Division.
Combat patches go on the right shoulder, so that's where it is.
The fluffy stuff around it is smoke, to be colored when the rest of the sleeve is colored.
I think a combat patch makes for a cheesy first or only tattoo, but if one were to have, say, sleeves, then they might as well have the combat patch that they earned be a part of those sleeves.
